Modern wood, like most other products, comes from mass production - it is planted, fertilized and cut in bulk all year round in breeding forests. All of this has a negative impact on quality. Today's fashionable OSB, fibreboard or MDF boards, which are used to make tables, worktops and cabinets, are produced from waste from the processing of this cultured wood. It can therefore be said that today's houses, furniture and everyday objects are to a large extent waste, and that this material has practically nothing to do with real wood!
That's why PaulBunyan® uses only original old wood, decades old up to 300 years old, to produce wooden tables and furniture, which we recover from the demolition of our buildings.
Unlike contemporary wood, our material was obtained from natural forests. The trees were felled only in winter, and woodcutters such as the legendary Paul Bunyan walked under the axe of woodcutters only the most beautiful and ancient specimens. They were the source of the most valuable wood - hard, resinous, with a unique smell and beautiful sweetness. We use this original old wood to make all our products in PaulBunyan®! Each copy has its own unique history engraved in the traces of nails, saws, and human hands. Of course, such wood requires an appropriate approach - its maintenance and processing takes many weeks, and the mixture of natural oils and waxes as well as special manual processing techniques are closely guarded secrets of our company. Imagine that you can have at home a table, a tabletop or a bathroom cupboard made of recycled original wood. Not everyone can boast such a unique piece of furniture!
By purchasing furniture and products made from original old wood in PaulBunyan® you also protect today's forests from mass destruction. In one minute, a natural forest with a surface area of 36 football fields disappears worldwide. Many trees are cut down illegally. Forests are home to 2/3 of all plant and animal species, so one of the most important effects of deforestation is the loss of biodiversity. Therefore, when choosing another piece of furniture for your home, choose ecological old certified wood and, if possible, replace it with recycled wood.
